As a little boy allready, Sven’s biggest passions in life were cooking and music. That’s why he was very excited to be able to combine these passions in his project “Sabors de BES” and that in the place where he lost his heart, the beautiful island of Ibiza.He feels very privileged to work with the freshest, local, natural ingredients the island has to offer. It’s his mission to introduce the island’s visitors to the real Ibiza through its local ingredients.
The name “Sabors de BES” means “Tastes of BES” in Eivissenc, the local language of Ibiza. Bes is the protective God of Ibiza that was introduced on the island by the Phoenicians, who were the first to set foot on the island. Next to BES being the god of the good life, good food and having a good time in general, he was also the one that gave its name to the island.
Sven’s recipes are unique and he strives to offer the best possible service to his guests.
He loves fermenting and creating healthy, yummy food. Homebrewn ginger beer, home-infused spirits, homemade sourdough bread, it’s all in his menus! Homemade is what he stands for.
